MTS IFRS net profit falls 60.1% to 5.4 bln rbl in Oct–Dec

MOSCOW, Mar 3 (PRIME) -- The net profit of Russian mobile operator MTS decreased 60.1% on the year to 5.4 billion rubles in October–December 2022, as calculated under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company said on Friday in a statement.

Revenue rose 1.6% to 144.4 billion rubles “driven primarily by the company’s Telecom, Fintech and Media segments.”

Operating income before depreciation and amortization (OIBDA) went up 0.4% to 55.6 billion rubles “supported by growth in telecom, fintech and media service.” The operating profit increased 8.1% to 27.8% billion rubles.

The net debt narrowed 1.5% to 383.7 billion rubles.

“In February 2023, sanctions were imposed on some of our subsidiaries by a number of foreign governments. We are currently examining the impact of these measures on our business. The company’s management takes the appropriate measures to mitigate the related negative effects,” President Vyacheslav Nikolayev said.
